Former Member of Parliament for St Mary’s South, Senator Samantha Marshall, has counteracted statements made by her past rival, Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, during a recent political gathering in Urlings.
Simon accused Marshall of misleading the Bolans populace, alleging she introduced her successor, Dwayne George, to Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
Marshall advised Simon to seek legal counsel or enhance his research capabilities in response.
Simon previously claimed Marshall aimed to secure her pension by “singing for her supper,” a comment dismissed by Senator Marshall. She recommended the United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate improve his legal understanding and research skills if he lacked familiarity with the law.
Marshall, deeply rooted in the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party, clarified her pensionable status and her willingness to continue serving in the Senate as Leader of Government business upon the Prime Minister’s request.
She emphasized her decision to step down from elective politics while emphasizing the importance of fact-checking and record verification for the party’s success in the upcoming elections.

Samantha, Dwayne George is your real enemy. He keeps insinuating that you did nothing. Labourites say you lazy and ineffective. But you have trang for Shugy. After you lost the election in January, that’s when you should have stepped down. Before you knew there was a by-election. That would make more sense.
Ms. Marshall is quite right. None of what Mr. Simon said ever happened. She got a violent shoved and it took her almost two weeks after the fall to understand what really happened.
