The government has confirmed the implementation of the remaining nine percent of the previously agreed 14 percent salary and wage increase from January 1, 2024.

Public sector workers, eagerly anticipating a salary hike, will see these adjustments in their January paychecks.

Monthly-paid employees will notice the increase at the end of January, while weekly-paid workers will experience it in their first payment after January 1, 2024.

Contrary to speculations about a phased approach, the government has clarified that the full nine percent will be added to wages and salaries starting January 1.

Notably, a five percent increase was already disbursed to public servants at the end of 2021 before the conclusion of the negotiations.

    • @Fatty….. private sector workers need to take up that with their companies. Government cannot tell private employers if and when to give a raise. That’s where your union comes in, and that is why employees pay their unions…. If they’re not agitating for your betterment then stop paying them.

  1. Oh look only 3 comments and here it thought there would be at lease 20 from the GB arse kissers GB haters(I mean critics) and the usual keyboard gangster but it seems we only comment on GB verbal diarrhea.

  3. Thanks for the salary increase Gaston although it’s long overdue.
Next is the two months salary you took from all those who chose life over death. In this new year, try to do more for the people. Try to un-stain, un-disrepute your name, your character. Humble yourself and go to God in prayer so He can forgive you.
I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. Ecclesiastes10:7.
    Humble yourself.
