Saharan dust haze expected to affect some Caribbean islands

LOOP: There is a slight dust haze in the atmosphere for some islands in the Caribbean today which is expected to increase by Monday.  

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services in its 72-hour weather outlook advised that varying concentrations of Saharan dust is expected to create haziness across St Vincent and the Grenadines and thicken with poor visibility at times.  

Meanwhile, the Dominica Meteorological Office in its weather forecast on Sunday said a significant increase in Saharan dust concentration can be expected on Monday resulting in a reduction in air quality and visibility.  

It said people with respiratory sensitivities are advised to exercise the necessary precautions to avoid complications. 

And in Sint Maarten, the Meteorological Department in its forecast on Sunday said varying concentrations of Saharan dust will affect the local region. As such, people with allergies and or respiratory illnesses should take the necessary precautions.
