(AP) — The U.S. has been tracking Russian warships and aircraft that are expected to arrive in the Caribbean for a military exercise in the coming weeks, in a Russian show of force as tensions rise over Western military support for Ukraine, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The ships also are expected possibly to make port calls in Venezuela and Cuba, as Russia establishes a Western Hemisphere military presence that the senior Biden administration officials said was notable but not concerning.
The exercise, which will be monitored by the U.S. military, will involve a “handful” of Russian ships and support vessels, the two officials said.
It’s not the first time Russia has sent its ships to the Caribbean.
This exercise, however, is taking place as Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested that Moscow could take “asymmetrical steps” elsewhere in the world in response to President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided weapons to strike inside Russia to protect Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city.
The officials, who spoke to reporters on the condition of anonymity to provide details that had not been announced publicly, said the exercise is “certainly” part of a broader Russian response to the U.S. support for Ukraine, but it also is an effort by Putin to show his navy is still capable of global power projection after losing several ships to Ukrainian strikes.

Ukrainian military officials said in March that Russia had lost one-third of its Black Sea fleet to Ukrainian strikes during the past two years of war.
Russia did not notify the U.S. of the pending exercise, but the ships’ movements have been tracked by the U.S. Navy, the officials said.
Despite Russia not notifying the U.S. — which countries often do to avoid miscalculation — the officials said militaries all over the globe have the right to conduct exercises in international waters and do so regularly.
For example, on Friday about 20 NATO countries including the U.S. will begin BALTOPS 24, a major naval and air exercise in the Baltic region near Russia.
The officials said they expect the Russian ships will remain in the region through the summer and will likely conduct similar, follow-up exercises in the Caribbean after this one concludes.
The officials said Congress was notified of the upcoming Russian exercises on Wednesday.

Like I said, not because Antigua and Barbuda they should not have an Intelligence and National Security Unit (INSU) as I have strongly recommended for the last over 10 years and more so recently. There will be a time of war and Antigua and Barbuda need to contribute something to protect itself.
This unit will also be charged with international national security matters, like drastic increase and frequency of BARRK crimes.
The Caribbean has always pride itself as been a zone of peace and free from any hostile military activities. I hope we can remain that way. We don’t want any military might flexing their muscles in our territories.
Send the coast guard and defence force out to greet them at our territorial waters edge, armed to the teeth ! Surely when they see our superior troops they will stay well clear of Antigua and Barbuda!
Doubt a russian fleet can make it this far without sinking. Antigua Coast Guard vessels may accidentally run them aground.

The world leaders these days are all MEN OF WAR. They do not give a damn about the human race. It’s all about showing power. People are just collateral damage. It is a miracle that World War III has not begin in full. What we ae seeing now are just the foreplay. Many rich people are preparing themselves for this scenario already. Thinking they would be able to survive this by building fully contained underground bunkers for their families to be able to live for many years after the big nuclear war has past. But I would go with Bob Marley. Have no fear for Atomic Weapons, Cause none of them can stop the time. And the Bible has prescribe the end time to us. If I’m alive I hope to be on the first batch to die. I don’t think I can take the suffering that would come.

The history of English Harbour, the British Fleet and Horacio Nelson speaks to this. The pirates and terrorists of that era speak to this.
Presently, it’s not the Naval Fleets which are entering the region which should be of major concern, but the SPACE FORCES controlled, monitored and manned by Artificial Intelligent Forces which are controlling the open skies above.
