The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is actively recruiting individuals from Barbuda aged 18 to 35 with a reasonable standard of education, emphasizing the need for a clean record and solid character. Commissioner Atley Rodney, during his Barbuda visit, left application forms for interested candidates.

Commissioner Rodney also addressed concerns about driving behavior in Barbuda, noting increased construction and urging compliance with regulations.

He emphasized specific driving regulations in built-up areas, highlighting the collaboration with the council and the Transport Board to install stop signs and traffic lights.

During discussions, plans were revealed for a suitable building to accommodate police officers in light of the island’s expansion. Rodney emphasized the need for facilities, stating, “If the island is expanding in terms of business and housing, we are going to need more police officers over time and the facilities as well.”
