On Saturday 11th December, as part of the club’s Charter Week of Activities, the Rotaract Club of Antigua hosted one of its annual signature projects, ‘Share the Cheer’. This year, the club brought smiles and happiness to over one hundred and fifty (150) children, by gifting toys to children throughout several communities across Antigua.

This initiative has been done in previous years, and it is aimed at spreading Christmas cheer to different target groups. This year, the club targeted children between the age of two (2) and ten (10) years old.

In a ‘Secret Santa’ style, the members of the Rotaract Club and Assistant Governor, Evangeline Allen journeyed with Santa Clause to spread Christmas Cheer by surprising children in Cassada Gardens, Piggotts, Johnsons, Michael’s Village, Nut Grove, Gray Hill, Grays Farm, Donovans, Five Islands, and Pointe. On the way to the Pointe community, the club and Santa also gifted toys to children on Market Street.

Community Service Director, Dr. Namadi Belle expressed that it was heartwarming to see how elated the children were to receive surprise gifts from Santa Clause. She also stated that the club received an overwhelming amount of gift donations through its Toy Drive, and thanked the individuals and businesses, for supporting the project.
