On Tuesday 28th September, the Rotaract Club of Antigua made its first donation to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre under the club’s ‘Mommy & Me’ Initiative.
The project, which was spearheaded by Dr. Namadi Belle, Director of Community Service, was launched in late August, to assist in supplying new-borns and mothers with essential items during their hospital stay.
Director Belle noted that the club raised funds through its recent fundraiser, as well as donations made by the public.
She further noted that new moms will also receive a gift certificate compliments Zuri Eudoxie. In closing, she expressed her sincere appreciation for all the support, and anticipates the club’s next donation to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, in the near future.
Accepting on behalf of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre were Ms. Sequoyah Survia, Clinical Social Worker and Ms. Deon Grannum, Social Services Coordinator, who both expressed their gratitude for the timely donation.
Also in attendance were AG Evangeline Allen; Ashlee Christian, President of the Rotaract Club; and other members of the Club.
