Robbery suspect, Javier Browne was remanded to prison this morning when he made an appearance in the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court.

The 23-year-old Bolans resident is accused of robbing a Grays Farm man who had been walking along the Potters Main Road in the wee hours of May 26.

The victim told police he was in the vicinity of the old ‘Dairy Factory’ when a silver Toyota Noah Van pulled alongside him and stopped.

The Grays Farm resident said two men emerged from the van armed with guns and forced him into the vehicle.

He said they then took him to a remote area in Cassada Gardens and allegedly beat and robbed him of his Apple iPhone 6 plus mobile phone, two credit cards, and an undisclosed sum of money.

Police said investigations into the matter identified Browne as one of the suspects.

Investigators are still on the lookout for the second alleged perpetrator and Browne is due back in court for committal proceedings in August.
