Retrial Decision for Ray John and Shakema Charles in Passport Fraud Case Delayed to November

11

The decision on whether suspended Superintendent Ray John and his co-accused, Shakema Charles, will face a retrial remains pending.

Magistrate Conliffe Clarke, expected to rule on the matter, has adjourned the case to November 15, requesting clarification on defense submissions.

The defense is seeking to have the case dismissed or moved to the Magistrates’ Court.

John and Charles were initially cleared of charges in March but were recharged and are now accused of conspiring with Vincentian resident Lonzel Jones in a passport fraud scheme involving fake bio pages.

  1. Justice for Antigua, this man is accused of printing and selling Antiguan passports.
Our justice system needs to send a clear message,
Send his ass to jail period….

  2. what about the fraud case involving 3 UPP POLITICIANS WHO REGISTERED THE SCHOOL BUSES IN THEIR PERSONAL NAMES???? One turned into a stipper pole bus.

  3. @please, yet the nurse who sold COVID vaccine cards must be punished, correct and these who allegedly forged the Nation’s passport must be sent home with no consequences for such crimes? They should also be charged with treason against the State.

  4. With the corruption in our courts, this case will be dismissed, squash, terminated, no case submission. Corruption at its fullest.

  5. When a police officer is caught in bobble, illegality, we can see that their is a concerted effort by some members of the force to kill the case. That is exactly what we see happening in this case. Corruption in the police force needs to be weeded out. And I’m not sure if Mr. Atlee Rodney is able to get this done. the force is divided.

  6. Friends in Courts are worth more than money in your pockets.I have been noticing a pattern in Antigua.Whereby certain named persons cases are being postponed several times. There are cases going on for over 4 years in Antigua through postponements. This would not happen if an ordinary,no named person had a case in those same COURTS.I say double standard,in the JUSTICE SYSTEM.
