Dear Deputy Secretary General,

 

I hope that this letter finds you in good health and spirit.

The time has come for me to face the harsh reality that the majority voting populace of Antigua & Barbuda does not buy into the vision and mission that the Democratic National Alliance is offering.

Moreover, the party’s performance in the last two General Elections have shown that the DNA is unable to gain traction or garner significant support which was reflected at the polls.

A recommendation was proposed by Colleague Anthony Stuart for the dissolution of the DNA. I supported this recommendation which has prompted me to turn a new chapter in my life.

It is with a heavy heart, careful consideration, and deep reflection that I hereby tender my resignation effective immediately as a Candidate and a longstanding member of the Democratic National Alliance.

Heartfelt thanks to President Joanne Massiah for her mentorship and my Colleagues for their support and shared opportunity to create history twice as a Candidate of the DNA.

I will use the experience gained for people empowerment.

    I for one have lost all respect for you after how you acted and behaved in the last election…

  8. I must admit this is the first time seeing this lady.

    There is nothing wrong with the DNA, there is something DEFINITELY WRONG with the mentality of the people on the political seen. This is a criss the country is facing.

    Much lessons to learn first up:
    I TOTALLY DISAGREE that anyone below 51 years should be in politics or leadership position. This is gross ignorance, and adults are neglecting their responsibilities and passing it to their children.

    These young people do jot know what they want yet, they are not willing to wait their turn and work hard. They want everything now. Jumping from different party to party, with no conviction. This is a crisis.

    DNA is solid as a rock, the vision is on point. DNA NEEDS HONEST COMMITTED PEOPLE TO MOVE THE VISION FORWARD.

    DNA can make a difference,

    • Hail Melchesidec, one individual can and do make a difference like a pebble dropped in a pond, and its rippling effects are felt all over the Universe. You can be that pebble!
      So, the question is and you are correct in some sense, “they want everything thing now,” the #Fast_Food, #Cloud_9, #Hydroponic Generation; so, the question begs, why don’t you join the DNA, if you’re not already a member and be that #Pebble_In_Da_Pond.

      DNA could use a Sir Andy “Fruitii” Roberts and Sir Vivian “Master_Blaster” Richards moment, similar to the #Moment_in_Time when they transformed the face of West Indies Cricket.

  9. Who will be the last man standing Stewart or Joanne? Who will be the first of the two, will we see on rumshop radio announcing that they are offering joining gassy and his gang?

  10. I met this lady working as a cashier and server, at the VJ’s branch on Old Pahram road, although pleasant enough, it proved difficult her getting your orders right. Not sure how running a constituency would have worked in her favor, considering the forgetfulness.
    Sadly I think I can speak for most Antiguans, when I say, that we have become despondent, when it comes to our political parties, who instead of representing or trying to garner our support, have turned their attention to matters not pertaining to the development of country and people.
    Instead we’ve adopted Petty Penguins and money mongers. That’s the order of the day in this fair country.
    Prime Lands are owned by the same color, that enslaved us, our medical, educational system is broken, our seniors are treated like dirt, with nothing but in place for their comfort after their contribution to society. ( as if we don’t realize we ourselves will get old too).
    Importation of ever living thing is eminent, since development is nil. Our banking system leaves room for innovation.
    The colonialism is very much real in the region on a hold.
    While our political leaders fill their pockets, and can easily relocate to any continent of their choosing, we’re left complaining without anyone been held accountable for their actions. While our children adopt the same mindset that all this is ok.
    Emancipate yourself from mental slavery? That’s a joke. We shouldn’t even be celebrating Independence at this point, because we’re not.

      Nibbling at your thought process, may I ask you, if some of what you’re alluding to, comes from the #BASTARDIZATION, of the People, through the same policy/edict adopted by the Church(es) and the JUDICIARY,(laws have since been amended, and the church enslavement indoctrinations are waning) decades ago, that a child born out of wedlock, was less of a HUEman, therefore, they were not entitled to the same blessings from the ESSENCE, of Nature’s Ether, therefore, they could not benefit from their parents estate, nor be wholly-holy🙃baptized/christened, and be positively blessed, as those born to a wedded couple?
      Again, have the Political system, and governance, #BASTARDIZED the electorate/culture in the same way?

  11. Whenever the Labor Party has disputes within their party they would still come together in the general election and win the hearts of the electorates. Saying this, Joanne Messiah should have bury the hatchet with Harold Lovell and the other members within the UPP, and focus on winning the heart of the electorates. If she had stay focused, UPP would have won the election, with Harold Lovell losing his seat, and she won her seat, she would have been the first woman prime minister in Antigua and Barbuda.

    The principles for ANR should consider reverting to the previous format. This new look is difficult to read and navigate. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL.

I want to remind people how this lady and others especially the other two who left last week- Chaneil and Knight how they verified and tried to reducible Malaka Parker Bruce Goodwin, Kelton Dalso and Gatesworth James when they left the party sighting serious leadership issues! Now you must chose another path for your life when you and your leader said you were here to stay. You all lack credit and vision and this was inevitable

  15. I have no real sympathy for the DNA’s political demise, because they are the reason why Gaston Browne and the ABLP are currently in power.

    Harold Lovell was so close to winning his seat as we all know, but for the DNA destabilising votes that ensured that the unaccountable, duplicitous and devious Gaston Browne retained power.

    Now it seems that we’re stuck with this foolish Prime Minister until 2028.

  16. THE DNA,STANDS FOR “DO NOTHING PARTY”. THEN THEY ALL DISAPPEARED AND ONLY ONE LEFT IN THE PARTY,JOANNE MASSIAH.WHERE DID IT GO WRONG? WHERE DID THEY GO WRONG? THEY STOOD FOR NOTHING.IN MY OPINION,THEY WERE JUST AN OFF SHOOT OF GASTON BROWNE LABOR PARTY,PLAYING SPOILER.THE DNA CANDIDATE IN THE BY-ELECTION GOT 12 TOTAL VOTES.LAUGHTER !!
