Residents Report “cell tower” fire north of English Harbour

Fire fighters are responding to a blaze in the Guinea Bush area in the hill overlooking the Falmouth and English Harbours.

One eye witness said a cell tower was on fire and another person added  “looks like the whole ridge has gone up.”

The fire is visible from several communities but there is no word on the cause at this time.

“Looks like a bush fire just to the west of the tower. Good luck to the Fire department that’s a hell of a track to get up there,” another person said.

There have also been suggestions from twitter users that this could be part of the 5G conspiracy. Reports surfaced in the United Kingdom last week that cell towers are being set ablaze by people who think 5G technology is responsible or the corona virus.

Health officials say there is no link.

More details later.
