A young man went into Xcape bar this evening with a handkerchief over his face and asked if it was Gaston Browne Bar.
Based on the suspicious behavior of the person, the staff closed the bar immediately after he left. He took nothing. And no weapon was involved.
The anonymous article claiming that four mask men robbed the establishment is a fabrication.

Whatever happened or didn’t happen at the Xcape Bar, one thing is certain. The country is on edge. People are scared like hell. Business Leaders and owners are particularly terrified and nervous. Realistically, there would never be enough police to man the whole country at this period of heightened anxiety amidst all the hold ups etc. Businesses in St. John’s and it’s environs must take matters into their own hands and up their security protocols. I would strongly suggest though that the government utilize the defense force at strategic locations over the next couple of weeks particularly in downtown St. John’s during regular business hours. The situation is unnerving to put it mildly.
Why the heck would he go into a place of business wearing a mask.What would have happened.If he was shot by the owners of said business.The public would be in uproar,because of the owners of said property.The people of the country have the rights to protect themselves,families,employees and properties by all means under the Laws.I come to Antigua every year,sometimes twice yearly.Now,I would have to be very careful.That is a damn shame. That I have to be looking over my shoulders when I visit the place of my birth.
