Gregory Colin Bailey Honored at Antigua’s 43rd Independence Celebrations

At Antigua and Barbuda’s 43rd Independence celebrations, Gregory Colin Bailey, widely known by his stage name “Causion,” was presented with one of the nation’s highest honors: Commander of the Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage (CH).

This award recognizes Bailey’s outstanding contributions to community service and music, as well as his unwavering dedication as a reggae ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda.

For over 30 years, Bailey has proudly represented his homeland on the global stage. His musical journey has taken him to international audiences, where he has opened for the renowned Third World Band and showcased Antigua and Barbuda as a prime tourist destination. Known for flying the Antiguan and Barbudan flag with pride, Bailey’s music and passion have highlighted the country’s culture and attractions worldwide.

Bailey’s contributions extend beyond his musical career. He established the Wadadli Music Festival, a community event that has brought joy and support to the Saint Paul community.

The festival also benefits the Amazing Grace Foundation, encouraging attendees to bring canned food items for those in need, fostering a culture of giving through the “can and come” initiative.

A strong advocate for men’s health, Bailey founded the Thank You Mission Foundation, which supports artists with medical expenses. This initiative was inspired by the outpouring of community support he received during his own battle with cancer in May 2022.

Despite his health challenges, Bailey has remained active and committed to his country’s promotion.

In partnership with Elite Island Resorts, he launched the “Antigua me come From” campaign, a Caribbean vacation-themed music video that gained over one million views globally. The campaign’s success earned the prestigious 2024 Gold Magellan Award for Marketing Excellence from Travel Weekly.

Bailey continues to work closely with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority to promote his beloved country. His patriotism shines through in his work, which he views as a sacred responsibility to his homeland.

Gregory Colin Bailey’s recognition as a Commander of the Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage underscores his contributions to the community and the nation, both through his music and his dedication to social causes.

His journey exemplifies resilience, patriotism, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on Antigua and Barbuda.
