CCJ Upholds The Validity Of Gift In Belize Estate Dispute

The activities related to the November 6 referendum on the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) are gathering momentum.

A Public Relations, Marketing, and Mobilization Team will this week kick off its own activities geared at ensuring that the country’s population is fully informed about the facts related to the CCJ and the Privy Council.

The referendum is a constitutional exercise that is seeking the vote of the country’s electorate in determining whether or not Antigua and Barbuda will accede to the CCJ as its final court of appeal or remain with the UK based Privy Council.

The team is now in the final stages of finalizing the various activities, media engagements, and community and public initiatives that will shoulder the education and sensitization programme until Referendum Day.

Due to the significance of the referendum, youth outreach will also play an integral part in the educational and sensitization initiatives.

The committee wishes to acknowledge the support of members of the legal fraternity who, on their own initiative, have accepted the invitations to attend small group forums to discuss the important matter.

The education campaign will also include top regional jurist, scholars, and practitioners to aid in the dissemination of information and sensitization efforts.

The committee will be actively engaging the private sector and community-based groups in focused consultations and education sessions.

Anyone wishing to be a part of the exercise can send their request to [email protected]. A Facebook page has now been reactivated and can be found at antiguareferendum2018 for more details.

  1. “…fully informed about the facts related to the CCJ and the Privy Council.”

I hope so, because so far it seems to be tilting heavily towards the CCJ. Present both sides equally and fairly and not just try to push your CCJ agenda down our throats. In the end the people will have the last word irrespective of the attempts at brainwashing in favour of the CCJ.

    Vote NO to the CCJ!!
