Real Estate Fraudster Sentenced To Make $46k Restitution Or Face Two Years In Prison

George Spencer, the husband in the real estate fraud duo, was yesterday ordered to pay back about $46,000 to a number of people he defrauded.

High Court Justice Stanley John gave this ultimatum saying if Spencer fails to make full restitution, he would have to serve two years at Her Majesty’s Prison.

George Spencer and his wife Francine Spencer were jointly charged with one count of obtaining money under false pretense, which resulted in an almost $50,000 payout on their behalf. However, unlike his wife, George pleaded guilty when they both appeared before the court on October 15th 2019.

Francine admitted to pretending to be a real estate sales agent and selling several parcels of land located in Gambles, Cassada Gardens, Hodges Bay and Seatons, to different individuals between 2009 and 2010, for which she took for herself over $160,000.

She was also charged with causing money to be paid by false pretenses but pleaded not guilty on all 16 counts.

It is said that she caused Fast Cash to pay out $2,000 to 16 individuals who pretended that they were either employees of GSC construction and Painting Services, Tropical Beverages, Tropical Service Distributors Limited, or SNM Supermarket.

The duo is being accused of the fraud that occurred on November 13th, 2009, at Redcliffe Street when Francine Spencer allegedly obtained $27,600 for the sale of land she was not authorised to sell.

Another victim claims he was swindled between March 15th and May 7th of that year at the same location when she collected $69,100 by falsely pretending to be a real estate agent with lands available for sale.

The police investigated in June 2010 and conducted a sting operation on Cross and Redcliffe streets where they had the couple under surveillance.

When the officer confronted the duo in the building which, at that time, housed Superman Cellular Phone repair shop, Francine dove under the rails of the balcony and tried to escape by jumping from the second storey into an alley.

  1. So after admitting to all the things above according to the article, she pled not Guilty..Then she must be Crazy..

  2. She have more heart than a pack of cards……. Persons must learn to be contented and live within their legitimate means…… NEGGA MUST TAP TIEF JUST TO LIVE BIG LIFE!!!

  3. Its almost predictable who’s going to get time in 1734 and who isn’t. Poor picky head people are going to jail for a lot less than this. Things such as cell phone, box money, power wash, few hundred dollars cash are some of the reasons your sons are going to jail. On the other hand, once you know certain people and hang around certain crowds you are guaranteed never to go jail. Not even for something of this scope. This was fraud at its best and all you get is “Pay Back the Money”. 16 Counts and Over 150 000 dollars involved and no jail time.

    WoW. I Need That Link
