RCA makes timely donation to the School for the Blind and Visually impaired as District Governor (DG) Glasgow visits

St. John’s, Antigua- Tuesday 6th February 2024: The School for the Blind and Visually impaired will be more equipped to meet the needs of its students, with the timely donation of equipment from the Rotary Club of Antigua.

As part of his official visit to interact with and observe some of the projects being undertaken by Rotary Clubs in Antigua, District Governor (DG) Brian Glasgow was present to witness the brief handover ceremony and congratulated the Club for its work in the community.

In making the donation to the institution’s representatives, Josette Cannonier and Noella Moses, President of the Rotary Club of Antigua Michael Spencer explained that the gesture is in keeping with the Club’s focus this year, raising awareness about disabilities.

The donation included the following items: electric kettle, microwave, ink, USB cords, a white board, markers and card stock printing paper.

The school’s representatives expressed profound gratitude to the Club for the needed supplies.

Meanwhile, as part of his official journey, DG Glasgow paid a courtesy call to His Excellency the Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams on Monday, visited the T.N Kirnon Primary School’s computer lab, which was also outfitted with a Peace Shelf, and also visited classrooms at the School for the Deaf.

On Tuesday, he witnessed the symbolic unveiling of a “Peace Pole” with the Interactors at the Christ the King High School.
