Rawdon Turner Seen as Strong Contender for St. Peter By-Election

9

Senator Rawdon Turner is emerging as a key candidate in the upcoming by-election for the St. Peter constituency, with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Barbuda Affairs, E.P. Chet Greene, expressing unwavering confidence in his ability to secure the seat.

Greene highlighted Turner’s leadership and accomplishments as evidence of his readiness to represent the constituency effectively.

Turner, who has served as a Senator since 2023, also chairs the National Housing Project, where his efforts have been widely praised for their impact on housing development in Antigua and Barbuda.

Greene described Turner as a “top performer” within the Gaston Browne administration and emphasized his alignment with the government’s commitment to progress.

“Rawdon Turner has consistently demonstrated his capacity to deliver results. His work in the housing sector and his broader public service make him the ideal choice for St. Peter,” Greene stated during a recent interview on Pointe FM.

The by-election follows the murder of MP Asot Michael. No date has been announced.

Turner’s campaign is expected to address key issues such as housing, infrastructure improvements, and community engagement—areas where he has already made a tangible impact.

Greene also highlighted Turner’s ability to connect with constituents, positioning him as a unifying figure for the constituency.

“The people of St. Peter deserve someone who not only listens to their concerns but also delivers solutions, and Rawdon Turner is that person,” Greene remarked.

  1. Franz said UPP is waiting for the mourning period to be over and then they will announce their candidate. Like they going to be in mourning for a long time.

  2. This picture shows a lot how Rawdon is overdressed. He is on tour with the minister and he wears a jacket. While the minister herself is very casual and just in a pants and shirt. Rawdon pay attention to detail. You don’t look good in a picture like this.

  3. @Less We Forget.
That’s a rather frivolous statement regarding his style of dress.
He’s a private developer and that’s the way he chooses to present himself.
He will be successful in his bid to become the member of Parliament.
He gets things done. Inasmuch we know that MP Asot Michael was loved by his constituents, it was mainly because of his generous hand for their personal gain in an immediate sense.
Now that’s behind us, we can have an organic by-election with a balanced playing field.

  4. I think Rawdon Turner is a win for St. Peter Constituency. However he needs to pay attention to the roads. Let us take Paynters Court as an example. Just remember what is started must be completed to the End. RED IS BREAD..

No Dave he is with his boss. Not as a private developer. He is as the ABLP candidate.
Appearance says a lot of a man. And being overdress is certainly something that looks weird. Just pay attention to how our PM dresses. Always down to earth the odd times he wear a tie is when protocol demands it.
Going on site with your boss he should have left the jacket in the car. You know how hot the weather is?
These young guys needs to learn to pay attention to detail.
One of the reasons he lost against Asot is because he didn’t pay attention to detail. Asot was in every nook and cranny in the constituency. Not Rawdon. His focus was mainly in Parham. I hope he has learned that the constituency is bigger then Parham alone. We’ll wait and see. But I can tell you my friend in Fitches Creek are complaining that they have never seen him in that part of the constituency. And he can let it fall on deaf ear. A word to the wise.

  6. While the family, friends and associates are still in mourning for the sad and terrible death of Asot Michael (and btw, where’s the update, court appearance and the circumstances into how he died from our Police Commissioner Attlee Rodney?).

As usual the nasty party ABLP, carry on as normal in pushing their candidate(s) for St Peters.

No respect and no decorum for the bereaved.

WOULDN’T IT BE NICE IF THEY SHOWED THE SAME ENTHUSIASM FOR THE COUNTRY AS THEY PROMOTE BY-ELECTION CANDIDATES?

Dem nasty by name, and nasty by nature …

  7. @Dave Ray – how’s your pile doing? Are the seat cushions soft enough to sit on after all these years of sitting on hard on stuff? The only reason why any ABLP Candidate running in St. Peters to regain Asot Nichael seat is because Asot Michael was ASSASSINATED. Murder is for the ordinary and. common man or woman in the society. Asot’s status alone as a Parliamentarian makes his untimely demise an ASSASSINATION.
This is the only way ABLP could regain the St. Peters Seat unless Asot was welcomed back into Labour, as he was desperately trying to do.
Correct me if I am wrong but the PM has to announce the By-election ninety days after the seat was made vacant by Asot’s ASSASSINATION. This could pose and we.hope not an interesting scenario if Asot’s funeral was not held before then. It’s almost thirty days after the seat became vacant.
Was Asot’s ASSASSINATION a personal hit? Was it a vendetta? Was it a political plot to eliminate him? Was it a hit by the gangsters who think he has information such as video recordings for the murder of the young girl on Runaway Beach? His video surveillances up in those palm trees see all the way to Cooks Hill Sandy Island Royalton Resort MSJMC Halcyon Heights. Therefore all traffic around Runaway Beach to and from is monitored.
@Dave Ray your behind cannot take all that sitting on hard on things. The muscles are too loose. Hope the pillows help.
The people of St Peter’s should totally reject Gaston Browne and the ABLP. All the opposing candidates must drill home is Gaston’s comments about helping St Peter’s immediately after the 2023 General elections.

Brix at least is wasn’t Labour Party that wished death upon any candidate. Like UPP openly planning for bi-election in St. Phillips North. Wishing bad health on Sir Robin. You are too hypocritical. You all only pretend to love Asot when he fell out with Labour Party and look how many were seen with Brown Paperbags coming out of Dry Hill right before election day. All with smiles on their faces. Asot money was so good to them. You guys have no shamer whatsoever. Asot bought all of you before the election. But he surprised you all also when he once again proclaimed he will remain voting with labour. And he went to the opening of the Barbuda Airport to show his colors. Labour to the Bone

  9. Ah how you bad-minded so @ Less We Forget?

Unless you can actually find/locate anyone wishing the demise of RobinYearwood, then hush your damn VILE and NASTY mout’.

You are beginning to sound desperate, just like the time you equated Gaston Browne to Jesus after his garbage collection stunt when you were better known as @ From The Sideline.

Scraping the bottom of the ABLP barrel again. But how can right minded people be surprised.

Just stick with debating on politics you idiatt!!!
