Senator Pearl Quinn-Williams, the United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate for St John’s City East, says she is confident of winning the constituency in the April 30 general election, claiming she has already overcome the six-vote margin from the previous poll.

Quinn-Williams criticised the current representation, alleging that the sitting MP has been largely absent from the community, leaving residents facing neglect.

She said constituents had repeatedly raised concerns about poor sanitation, which she described as the most pressing issue in the area. According to her, blocked gutters, stagnant water and accumulated bulk waste were contributing to unhealthy conditions in some communities.

She also questioned the performance of the MP in his capacity as Minister of Public Utilities, citing ongoing concerns about inconsistent water and electricity supply in parts of the constituency.

With less than three weeks to go before election day, Quinn-Williams said she remains focused on maintaining a strong, visible presence on the campaign trail.

  1. To all undecided voters: We must confront the reality of Gaston Browne’s leadership. He had the nerve to attack Pearl Quinn, but this is the level he stoops to—no class, no integrity. A confident leader wouldn’t call an election after just two and a half years. Browne has run this country like his personal household. His family is embedded in every business, and the time is up. The Labour Party has proven it can’t serve the people. The CIP program gave us nothing but obstacles—now ordinary Antiguans can’t even get U.S. visas, and basic goods cost triple due to ABST and taxes. Meanwhile, we still pay more to license our cars on broken roads. This is all a calculation to enrich them, not us. They give a home, but no ability to maintain it—and the average worker on $400 a week can’t survive. Gaston, it’s a mirage. You’re in a bubble. Look at the broken glass on Friars Road—no cleanup. And this is on your watch. As Prime Minister, you get an F. You have failed the average person, because all you do is enrich yourself and position yourself as a superpower. The people come first—and it’s time we take our country back.

Pearl is that how maths work on your end in order to win?
