With the January 14, 2025, by-election in St. Peter approaching, will the absence of Asot Michael’s influence and resources shift the electorate back to Labour dominance, or can the UPP or another candidate capitalise on the unprecedented voter dynamics from 2023?

  2. Does UPP even have a candidate? Just asking.. An opposition in crisis and sleeping at the wheel…too late to mobilize troops… an opportunity lost…. would not want to get in this way, though, would feel guilty like if capitalizing on someone else’s demise

  5. They wanted Asot out the way.He was getting too close to their door steps(check his apoearence in Barbuda) Weston could not have said it better.ABLP didn’t want ASOT in life but Accepted him in Death.I Smell a Rat. ASOT Death wasn’t Normal.Somebody In ABLP went to Guadeloupe.

  10. Look at how those UPP nearga with their suggestions of obeah and Guadeloupe, trying desperately to feed on Asot’s carcass!!! Shame, shame, shame! Asot, despite his personal beef with the Hon. PM, was a die’-hard deeply entrenched supporter of the ABLP. You”johnnies-come-lately’ clearly have no knowledge of or appreciation for the virtue called loyalty. Antiguans, and in particular members and supporters of the ABLP, remain fiercely loyal to the Labour Party. They represent OUR history, OUR heritage and, with all due respect to my beloved PM, the movement – the ABLP is NOT all about him. The mindless, idle UPP and their supporters in their shallow rhetoric, refer to us as red Kool-Aid drinkers, just highlighting their deliberate ignorance and stupidity. They refuse to recognize and admit that the red we in which we immerse ourselves is symbolic of the blood bond we have forged with this Party. No one man from within or outside can determine the fate or the forward movement of the ABLP. So, to the hooded klansmen, the kierons, the failed Weston, the “born-again” mouse of a reporter (another one!), the self-styled ” little black boy” and their puppet master, kindly understand that, try as you might, you WILL FAIL, and the wagon will keep rolling right along.

  11. I’ve been around long enough to understand the workings of the Party. It seems to have started by gangsters and mobsters. It wasn’t uncommon to hear some of their loyalists brag about the atrocities that they have committed to prove their commitment to the organization. They talked about throwing chains on electric wires to effect a short circuit condition that would disrupt electricity in the planned areas. It was prevalent in the Alexander Moody-Stuart era which caused him to call V.C.Bird, VULCAN, (THE GOD OF FIRE).This continued during the reign of the PLM. There was regular bumb scare and arson attacks on the cane fields and their Bachananl radio would blast a tune entitled ‘burn the damn place down ‘. Ivor Bird spoke to that issue just a few years ago on the same radio station. We hear of the murders and attempted murder of Custom Officers and that brings to mind the murder of a high ranking government official named Guishard and that of Dr. Prasad who was connected to that matter. Asot Michael might have found himself in that same web and that’s why I have absolutely no doubt that Wayne Marsh’s claim is real. The leaders have changed but the ideology is still the same.
