PUBLIC NOTICE: Curfew Passes To Be Distributed To Essential Workers

The Police have announced that Curfew Passes for Essential Workers/Services will be distributed at the National Office of Disaster Services-NODS from 2pm until 4pm (Today) Monday 30th March, 2020.

This distribution will continue from 8am -4pm on Tuesday 31st March and for the rest of the week.

Only persons who fall under this category and are expected to be at work will be issued with these passes. Those persons are required to take along some form of Government issued ID and documentation to indicate place of work or type of business in the case of self-employed workers.

Please remember that social distancing is still in effect.

  2. The whole process has not been thoroughly thought through and is complete haywire. When I called NODS on Monday, their staff initially took the names of the essential workers that would need passes. Then told me that they would call me back when the passes are ready. I never got a call back. Called NODS again on Tuesday morning where I was told that I would be required to take in a letter to the Commissioner of Police which I did but I sent it by email. Didnt get a response until I called the headquarters at which time they responded and told me via phone and email that my requested has been approved and processed. I was also told to be at NODS for 2 o’clock. I arrived at 1:30 to find complete choas except for the 5 persons in a line inside of the premises. Scores of persons were outside dropping off letters etc to try to get a pass. I was just there to pickup passes yet I was unable to do so because there no organization whatsoever. They closed off saying they are not issuing anymore passes for the day yet I have to work and move around within the curfew period. Yet if I do, the police might want to charge me because as we all may know, some are not the brightest bulbs in the room when it comes to communication or comprehension. I was told to come back for more chaos tomorrow….
