All public educational institutions in Antigua will reopen on Monday, 11 September for staff, pedagogues, administrators, and mature student volunteers only, to unpack and prepare for the commencement of full class sessions on Tuesday 12 September, 2017.

All MoEST pedagogues and staff employed in Barbuda but who are now in Antigua are invited to attend an important meeting at the Public Library conference room at 1pm on Tuesday, 12 September.

All Barbuda students relocated to Antigua, along with their parents, are invited to attend an important meeting at the Antigua Girls High School Auditorium at 2pm on Wednesday, 13 September for students enrolled at Sir McChesney George and at 2pm on Thursday, 14 September for students enrolled at Holy Trinity.

In Barbuda, pedagogues and staff will conduct assessments at the directive of site administrators between 11 and 15 September. Classes will commence on 18 September for 4th and 5th form students only on an abridged schedule. Classes begin on 2 October for all other secondary school students and students from Holy Trinity and will be held at Sir McChesney George campus. Students from the primary school will attend from 8am to 12pm and secondary students will attend from 1pm to 5pm.

We will continue to work to restore the educative process even under these trying circumstances.

Hon. Michael S. Browne
Minister of Education, Science & Technology
