A rally demanding justice for 18-year-old Khaleel Simon is due to take place outside Police Headquarters this Friday, 19 September.
Organisers say the protest, scheduled for 3:00 p.m., will serve both as a show of grief and a call for accountability after Simon was shot and killed by a police officer on 27 August.
Family members describe Simon as a young man “full of promise and youthful joy,” and accuse those “sworn to protect him” of taking his life. His death has sparked widespread outrage across Antigua and Barbuda.
The demonstration will be held under the slogan Justice for Khaleel Simon, with supporters encouraged to attend in solidarity. Social media users are also mobilising under the hashtag #JusticeForKhaleelSimon.

A coroner’s inquest into the shooting was held on 3 September. The police administration has said certain administrative measures have been taken concerning the officer involved, pending the outcome of the inquiry.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Everton Jeffers, has appealed for calm and urged the public to allow the investigation to proceed.
