The out-going principal of the UWI Five Islands Campus, Professor Stafford Griffith, was invited to say farewell and to be thanked by the Cabinet for the sterling service he provided during the academic year just ended to the new Five Islands Campus.

Professor Griffith repeated that no other UWI Campus began with as many students, nor with a built-up campus, as has the UWI Fourth Landed Campus at Five Islands. He reported that the number of applicants for the 2020/2021 academic year exceeded 400 from 10 CARICOM countries, and that was remarkable.

He felt the warmth of the people of Antigua, and enjoyed the security which Antigua afforded, he reported. However, his retirement had come and he would forever remain attached to the campus here since he was its first principal. The Cabinet thanked him for his outstanding work and applauded him for his leadership since the opening of the university campus.

The Gaston Browne administration regards the establishment of the UWI Fourth Landed Campus as its most significant achievement.
