25-year-old Jafari Harper has been rushed to hospital after feeling unwell for two weeks.

This morning his condition worsened with swelling about his body.

Superintendent of Prisons, Jermaine Anthony told Observer that Harper is being cared for at the hospital but stopped short of making any further comments.

He did assure however that Harper’s condition is being investigated by doctors at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC).

Harper is scheduled to be released from prison this Thursday.

He has visited the hospital previously where he was given medication for an upset stomach and feeling generally unwell.

It is unclear at this point what the 25-year-old is suffering from, although his mother says she believes it may be kidney problems.
