Authorities have confirmed that 27-year-old Inmate Cordayro Joseph was found hanging by a piece of his clothing in the Maximum-Security wing of the prison.

Prison Superintendent Albert Wade told Pointe FM the inmates were released for their morning shower and Joseph asked to return inside to use the pail. When he did not return, inquiries were made and he was found hanging.

He believes if there were several experts on staff, Joseph’s plight may have come to light. The prison superintendent noted though that there were no visible signs that the prisoner was experiencing difficult times.

Cordayro Joseph was serving time for murder.

  1. My condolences to this young man family.
Something need to be done with this prison. It is not helping especially our young men who go there. It suppose to a rehabilitation/correction facility but it is destroying most of our young men who go there mentally and physically. We need a Booth Camp or The Cadet Corps to help these young men. I am sure if we do a survey that most of our young men who are incarcerated there are for Marijuana drugs.

      • Thank God neither you or yours have ever done anything wrong. And thank him that you’ll remain perfect. Keep in mind that you are not your brothers keeper you are your brother. We have all fallen short of the glory of God some are just more fortunate than others that we weren’t caught or we have not gone to the extreme of what this young man was accused of. At the end of the day he was a human being who will be missed by his loved ones.

    • This guy was in Prison for Murder- And for your information the main purpose of a Prison is not for Rehabilitation purposes, its for Punishment.. They do not have Rehabilitation programs for Convicted Murderers and persons who commit serious Crimes.. Rehab programs are for young delinquents who commit petty offenses.. The state of the Prison did not kill him-not been able to bear the punishment is what caused him to do so.. Its always sad when anyone ends up tihs way,but the truth is you cannot plant Thorns and get Roses, they choose lives of Crime and is paying the consequences.

  2. First let me express my sympathy to the family of the deceased. Its sad that the young man chose to end his life in that manner….. However, we need to realize there are always consequences to ones actions and facing the conditions of prison is just one of them….. Now let’s bear in mind that many of our criminals are a product of bad practices within our society…. Poor parenting, recognising an individual with the most expensive phone, biggest house or the most expensive car or even the most expensive shoe etc are some factors that contribute to some behaviours of these criminals. Our homes, churches, schools & politicians need to put proper programs in place so that proper morals & values are propagated into our society so that persons would be taught how to be self reliant , humble and not to covet others of their belongings… Each school curriculum needs a religious knowledge subject… it will help compliment our Sunday schools & churches with their religious programs and perhaps positively impact our children at an early age.
