     Gaston is clearly a bad leader (unlike what Pringle would have us believe) but he will only be defeated if we keep our head on, like Baldwin used to say. If the UPP expects to have a chance in hell of winning, they need to get real about such foolish mistakes like this absolutely sickening praise of Gaston Browne.

     And to Gisele Isaac who wrote this drivel, I simply say come better than this! The people of this country are not fools who are beneath your supposed level of intelligence.

     The UPP needs to preserve its image and avoid such ridiculous mistakes if Gaston is to be removed.

     This is literally friendly fire, with Pringle attacking his own party’s image and giving Gaston Browne a gift. And only Pringle can be blamed for this. Daren didn’t put a gun to his head to chat this BS!

     Pringle gave Gaston Browne praise he does not deserve.

     Pringle gave Gaston the distraction he needed from the issues of the day, including the scandalous government rental of his son’s property and the freedom of information requests which have the “top dog” seemingly going mad.

     Pringle embarrassed the UPP and its leadership, and reduced its momentum at a time when Gaston is vulnerable.

     The UPP will not win any future elections with such lame Gisele Isaac excuses and distortions as we are reading in this Real News article. Get real. Face reality! Reading all of the comments all over the internet today made me cringe, and this is the best the UPP Chairman can come with?

     The question Daren asked about the qualities each former Prime Minister possesses that inspires Hon Pringle is two hours and twenty minutes into the video.

     You Gisele say in your article that Pringle mentioned Sir George Walter.

     There was no mention made of Sir George at all! Why lie about something that can be found out just by listening to the interview for ourselves?

     Yes Sir George and the PLM laid a very solid foundation building most of the schools, taking agriculture forward, social security, and on and on. Sir George was a Premier and not a Prime Minister so it would have taken more skill than was on display by Pringle to reframe the question about four Prime Ministers, to an answer based on all national leaders including Sir George.

     You also say that Pringle’s comments were taken out of context and were “appearing to praise the leadership of Prime Minister Gaston Browne”

     Appearing? So we are deaf and dumb to you Gisele?

     Daren’s question was about what qualities inspired Hon Pringle.

     As we can all hear for ourselves, Pringle mentioned two qualities about Gaston Browne which inspired him, that any sensible grass root person living in Antigua and Barbuda will completely disagree with, given Gaston’s performance:

     1. “his forcefulness, his decision making as a leader.”

     Decision making?

     Like taxing our people into poverty after promising no ABST and a lower cost of living?

     Really?

     This is the “decision making as a leader” that Pringle finds inspiring?

     Gaston is forcefully f*****g us over. That’s the only forceful thing!

     2. “he’s not afraid to grab the bull by the horn and to tame it.”

     Is Jamale Pringle serious?

     What bull is Gaston grabbing except the creative enrichment bull?

     The out of control debt?

     The dozens of undelivered projects and several thousands of jobs we were promised?

     Is it the crime bull that savages our people daily?

     Gisele you have dug a deeper hole for the young brother Pringle. The smart move would have been to just admit a poor choice of words and refocus on the issues. Instead you have chosen to question our intelligence and hearing function, and you even lied outright in an attempt to rewrite history on what Pringle actually said.

     Why are you giving the voters more reasons to lose faith in the UPP? Pringle should just retract the statement, admit error and get back on the issues. Clearly this is not your plan or his.

     We tried to stay upbeat about Pringle. We really tried. If you’re still his chief advisor then the future is dark.

       • Gisele Isaac is Hon Jamale Pringle’s paid advisor.

         She was appointed by Pringle (as Opposition Leader) to the position of Research Officer and paid by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda every month to look about his training, debate performance, speeches and so on.

         Based on Pringle’s performance it is clear that Gisele has failed the young brother. Being as arrogant as she is, I am also certain that she has dismissed every single concern from the public and members of the UPP about Pringle’s obvious shortcomings, from the time he was “Single Pringle” up to now.

         Her total lack of concern for Pringle’s persistent shortcomings is an insult to every son and daughter of the soil who needs and prays for the UPP to rescue our country. Leadership matters but obviously not to her.

         Gisele was not beside him during the failed interview, you are right.

         She was missing in action for 5 years when she should have been training Pringle so that he would not even need her at his side to avoid praising wicked Gaston Browne.

         Are you happy that someone we must vote for as the next Prime Minister needs his Research Officer at his side to avoid bigging up Gaston? You are really happy with that kind of leadership?

         As someone who want’s Gaston gone, you’re damn right that I have a huge problem with the arrogant know-it-all Gisele Isaac. You are 100% correct about that!

         She is completely unconcerned about the damage her Pringle has done to our chances of seeing the back of Gaston and the ALP anytime soon, and she has no remorse for failing him as his appointed Research Officer.

         You can now go ahead and call me illiterate again. Just ignore the serious and glaring issues I have raised and try to deflect like this laughable article.

         Most Gisele Isaac fanboys and fangirls have their heads buried in the sand and expect change to come through some kind of miracle, no matter how badly Pringle is seen by the same voters the UPP needs to win.

         You seem to love being in opposition just as much as Gisele and Pringle, and you even said “I WOULD RATHER LOSE AN ELECTION” This is something Gisele Isaac herself often says when others in the leadership of UPP point out that some of her statements run voters away. “If we lose we lose”. That’s the Gisele mindset. We could be starving, cars mashed up on Gaston roads, robbed and raped but “If we lose we lose” No wonder you are so triggered by my comment and so accepting of Pringle praising Gaston.

         Are you sure you’re not an ALP double agent?

         Pringle boosted Gaston up and gave him a powerful sound bite that will haunt the UPP as long as Pringle remains leader.

       Your article is so PROFOUND. AS a UPP member. I am very upset with GISEL Isaac and Pringle. They are taking Us for FOOLS. I listened the original interview and there was NO cut and paste of the tape. Those were the exact words from Jamale Pringle mouth.

       Why GISEL is rekindling the issue ? Now, We UPP have egg on our face. We need leadership within UPP. I cannot rest my hand on anyone at this moment. Bowen would make a good leader but too much baggage. ABLP would have a field day with Him.

       We need to do some introspection of UPP. We need a brand new team of Leaders. Our present leaders have done Their jobs. For election 2028 let’s vote some vibrant,articulate persons.

4. When somebody sent me the clip of the exchange between a radio host and Jamale Pringle, I just said trupz because I did not and still do not see what all the hoopla was and is about.

   The question asked of Pringle was, “Is there something that you would have learnt from studying/observer each Prime Minster that would make you an effective Prime Minister should you become Prime Minister…”?

   He answered yes and proceeded to acknowledge the positives as he saw it, starting with Sir Vere….

   When he got to the present Prime Minister, he acknowledged the forcefulness and decision making as a leader.

   It was immediately put to him, by the host, that some of his party colleagues say it, the actions of the present Prime Minister is dictatorial, to which he acknowledged that IN SOME CASES, ‘YOU CAN SEE THAT’…….

   How come that was not highlighted?

   People hear what they want to hear. Trupz.

   Some people in U.P.P. say that Gisel Isaac do as she like with Jamale and control him.

   Now that Jamale is saying he can be his own man WITHOUT BEING DICTATORIAL they still have a problem?

   When people na love you boy dem give you basket to carry water.

   The U.P.P. Member of Parliament who wants to be the ‘new king-maker’ would be a disaster for Antigua.

     Daren even tried to save Jamale with his interjection and he still cut his own throat. Imagine that. Even Daren understands the politics better than the current UPP leader.

     • You are right on the money. One thing a politician knows; never give credit to your opponent, even when credit is due.

       A good politician knows you equivocate on such questions and use the opportunity to drill down on why his or her opponent is not worthy. Pringle had that opportunity and blew it.

       Obama says things that were considered favorable to Reagan long after Reagan was dead, on the neutral subject of them both understanding America exceptionalism. He picked up some moderate votes with that statement.
       There is nothing for Pringle to gain in making that statement of Gaston unless Gaston promised him something.

       There is nothing admirable about Gaston Browne; so that was not a difficult question to answer. Pringle said exactly how he felt about Gaston Browne. His statement speaks to his naivete as a politician not equipped to be the Party Leader.

       UPP is scheduled to hold its Biennial Convention Sunday April 20th. just the right time to have an executive meeting to decide on a new party leader.

     Politically Pringle’s answer was damaging both to him and the UPP. There is nothing decisive about Gaston Brown except when he makes corruptive decisions.

     Pringle conflated hasty with decisive. He also does not seemingly understand the difference between insulative degrading behaviours and being forceful.

     For people who would want to give pringle the benefit of the doubt; It’s a pity the radio host did not go on to ask him to give examples.

     This encounter illustrates Jamal Pringle is far from ready for prime time.
     If you think “The U.P.P. Member of Parliament who wants to be the ‘new king-maker’ would be a disaster for Antigua”. Lay it out. Gaston’s style as leadership, is to throw out insults and cast dispersions.
     Don’ attempt to degrade the leadership candidate because of Pringles folly. You are playing into Gaston’s and the ABLP hands.

5. Please MP Pringle, and all other UPP members, know your enemy! ABLP is too dangerous to not have them in your head 24x7and be cautious of anything you say or do that they can spin. Their modus operandi is to pull down the opponent to give the appearance of elevation; this they seek every opportunity to do. So, don’t play with them. Speak to them or about them only when necessary.
   I can see already that they are seeking every opportunity to make you guys appear foolish and incompetent. That is their campaign strategy. So again don’t play with these people because behind their false smiles are “deadly” intentions for you and the country.

6. You did name what you admired about Gaston regardless of the context. Nothing changes that and it’s fine in general for a UPP supporter but as the Leader of the Opposition, it looks like endorsement to some degree… and maybe that’s fine too. It will rub some of your supporters the wrong way too as the traits you mentioned may be what they hate.

   • Hold your nerve members and supporters of the UPP. The attacks are going to increase more and more; as any lawyer, legal eagle – or even the Prime Minister – will tell you, that an inappropriate word or a line in a testimony can cause great and immense harm to us.
