In response to the threat of COVID-19 to Antigua and Barbuda the Prices and Consumer Affairs Division guided by Government decision notifies the General Public that for the next seven days commencing on Thursday 2nd April, 2020 its office will be closed to the Public.

In such instances, in the event the consumer has to make a purchase, the consumer is asked to retain his/her receipt so that the matter can be properly investigated when the Division reopens its office and the consumer would then be compensated accordingly.
The Division is reminding traders that under THE DISTRIBUTION AND PRICE OF GOODS ACT (CAP 138) it is an offence to sell any goods in excess of the maximum selling price of which it has been fixed under the provisions of the Act.
Meanwhile, to ensure continued communication with the public, consumers may contact ourhotline/whatsapp number 464-4238 to obtain information, make complaints and/or inform us about occurrences of price gouging.
Consumers may continue to contact us via our facebook page or Instagram. Complaints can also be made via these social media platforms.
We are all in this crisis together so let us take the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and fight COVID-19.
