Prayers go up for Kendra Beazer

Residents have responded to news of the arrest of Antigua and Barbuda scholar Kendra Beazer by offering prayers.

The news left his native Barbuda in shock with many still in disbelief. The overriding response from residents is that everyone should offer up prayers from his safety.

“Father God you are above all things, what ever the enemy is plotting our his life we dismantle ever wicked scheme of the enemy…father you said you give your hardest battle to your strongest soldiers..cover him Lord, it’s your will let it be done in Jesus might name I pray amen,” one woman wrote.

Someone else said, “This not kendra. If you know, you know he loves good name, so why would he do this to himself and Barbuda? Again something is not right kendra i feel this one with tears running down my face. From our last conversation we spoke over 3 hours and you were soo happy you final got the chance to further your studies.

It is reported that Beazer, a Lehigh University graduate student  assaulted three police officers and a sergeant who were escorting him to a voluntary mental health evaluation.

Kendra Beazer, of the 800 block of Wyandotte Street, was arraigned early Monday before District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez on charges of aggravated assault, disarming a law enforcement officer, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, simple assault and harassment.

There have been calls for the Antigua Government to intervene and bring Beazer home.
