The High Court has delayed its hearing on the United Taxi Company’s leadership crisis until November 21. The dispute is fueled by conflicting claims to the presidency from Henley Daniel and Ian Joseph, following a divisive election that drew participation from just half of the company’s 91 members.
This turmoil began when over half of UTC’s members petitioned last year for the ousting of Daniel’s previous executive team, citing a toxic work environment. Attempts at mediation have failed, prompting the Cabinet to step back and leave the matter to the courts.
Joseph, now leading the newly elected executive, is advocating for a change in leadership and demanding Daniel’s resignation. With both sides firmly entrenched, the taxi company faces uncertainty as they await the court’s decision on this contentious issue.
