REAL NEWS- A post-mortem examination on the body of a Parham man who allegedly took his own life on August 12 has determined that his injuries are, in fact, consistent with suicide.
Government Pathologist Dr. Petra Miller-Nanton examined the body of Alston Irving Furlonge last week. At the conclusion of the post mortem, she determined that his death was the result of asphyxiation as a consequence of hanging.
Meanwhile, the Coroner’s Inquest into Furlonge’s death has commenced and was held by Coroner Joanne Walsh and a six-member jury panel. The body was examined on September 20 and the panel was adjourned sine die.
Reports say the body of 45-year-old Furlong was found by a relative at around 6:30 p.m. on the day in question. It was suspended from the roof of his bedroom by an electrical cord.
According to the Police, several attempts were made to revive him, but they were unsuccessful.
Furlong reportedly had been seen alive about an hour and a half earlier in the village.
The Coroner’s Inquest into the death of Greta “Dolly” Barton of Yorks was also conducted recently.
Barton allegedly was struck by a car in the early hours of Sunday, September 4, on Friars Hill Road.
The 85-year-old woman had disappeared from her home on Saturday night, September 3, and a search for her had been mounted by family members.
She was the second pedestrian fatality on the recently rebuilt roadway and the country’s eighth road fatality for 2022.
