Port bosses readying for expansion

In preparation for the commencement of the contruction for the long awaited redevelopment and renovation work to be done at the deep water harbour,  Board Chairman Sen. Mary Claire Hurst and CEO of the Antigua /Barbuda Port Authority, Mr. Darwin Telemaque, will be part of a delegation heading to China to finalize and recieve the technical drawings from the contractor – China Civil Construction & Engineering Company (CCECC).
The team, which is comprised of three engineers – Mark Shenstone, Evron Zacharia & Richard Taylor, left for China Friday evening at 9:50pm.  Once the team arrives in China on Sunday, they will engage thereafter in various discussions, including site overview, perusal of the plans drawn by CCECC and the determination of any necessary upgrades.
Following the completion of the presentations and discussions regarding the technical drawings, the Board Chairman will accept the drawings on behalf of the Government of Antigua.
This will activate the departure of the construction company (CCECC) project management team to Antigua. It is expected that the physical construction of the largest infrastructural project in the history of Antigua, will follow in short order.  The Chairman & Port delegation is expected to return to Antigua on December 3rd.

  1. Good to hear but who will maintain the new structure since the government has a problem with maintaining what they construct??? Preventative Maintenance
