4

Nigel ‘Missing Link’ Bascus, a political candidate, lost his four-bedroom home in a fire on Tuesday morning.

Bascus, a fisherman, lost his possessions, including fishing gear, a GPS system, and his vehicle.

Firefighters managed to prevent further damage but couldn’t save the house.

The fire occurred a day after Bascus failed to secure a nomination for the St. Mary’s South constituency.

He left home 20 minutes before the fire started and suspected foul play in his political career.

Bascus mentioned that the house was uninsured, compounding his loss.

  1. Suspicion vs investigations!
Sorry for your loss. However having suspicions in a case of this nature could go either way, as in, an accident or someone did without your knowledge or someone did with your knowledge.

The nation is definitely in need of professional(not saying the fire department is not staffed with professionals); but again, the nation is in need of professionals who are specifically trained in fire investigations.
Since, the house etc was not insured, the insurance company(s) will not get involved.
His other option would be to hire private professional fire investigators.

Again, sorry for your loss. Politics is a risky business.

  2. Let me get this straight…He failed to secure a nomination for an upcoming election, thereby making him no threat to any other candidate or party and THEN he becomes the target of political malfeasance?
