As Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh faces suspension over undisclosed disciplinary charges filed by the Judicial and Legal Services Commission (JLSC), political commentator Peter Wickham expressed caution on predicting the impact on the judiciary.
The suspension, effective July 20, has raised concerns about how the public perceives the judiciary.
Former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Anthony Armstrong is also grappling with legal issues in Jamaica, linked to the sale of properties without client consent.
Wickham emphasized that judgments should not be made prematurely, stating that the outcomes of these cases would shape public perception.
Walsh has retained legal representation, and Armstrong had received early retirement approval last year amidst misconduct charges in Jamaica.
