Police Statement on Former Minister Dean Jonas Incident
On Thursday, February 23, the police went to the home of former minister Dean Jonas to make inquiries into a report that resulted in him being arrested and charged.
The Police Administration is cognizance of the public’s reactions and concerns since the incident occurred, and wishes to inform the general public that this matter will be fully investigated by senior officials.

Ridiculous! They should not have gone to his accompanied by his child’s mother. It’s a civil matter. They should know protocol. They went there looking for trouble, simply because he is no longer elected. They will lose this case with a competent attorney. I can guarantee you if it were the PM or any other high official, their response would have been different. The police department needs to be retrained. Let’s see how this one ends.
@Dave Ray: The Police Department needs to treat all individuals the very same. Regardless if that person has a title in front or behind their name. The Police are just respecter of persons. I listened to a clip of Wendel Robinson in the news today. He was speaking ill of the Police Force in regards to this matter. He did say that a Law Suit could be coming against the Minister of Legal Affairs,Police Commissioner and the Police involved. He was the Police Commissioner. When the Police arrested Giselle and Serpent. I am now wondering why they did not sue his Arse,Legal Affairs Minister and the Police who arrested them. Now that he is in private practice,he knows it all.
The police needs to have continuing education for its officers. This officers behavior was egregious and a blight on the police department. That officer has zero business being there and could have advocated on behalf of the Mother by asking Mr Jonas to return the child to the Mom without all the power and might he showed up with.
Once Mr Jonas asked him to leave he should have done so forthwith. No long talking. The officer went with no legal leg to stand on and now he will have to pay for his misuse of power and perhaps face criminal charges.
Know the law officers and if you don’t, then you shouldn’t have a badge.
This is what happens when people are friend and company with people in so called authority. They abuse their authority and trust me often times they get away with it. Hope Dean take them to the cleaners. But corruption remain rife in high places so don’t hold your breath.

The young police are frightening with the power they wield. An older woman was telling how two young police driving in front of her stopped suddenly on the wrong side as she tried to get past them they allowed the oncoming traffic and she almost had an accident. Engaging the police she mentioned they could have cost her an accident and should apologize. They put her in he place stating, “Police do not apologize Ma’am”
They need to fire their Police trainers.
Police officers definitely need TRAINING.

Word on the street is that the officer was involved with the mother 🤦♂️. It wasn’t a domestic call from 911 and the mother doesn’t live there, so take the complain and ask the mother to stay away from his property until the Police get instructions from their legal team. She left the child with the father and is returning for him it’s not like the father abducted the child.

Police are protected by the strong arm of the law Atley not holding them accountable for their actions. They love to gun butt and beat people.
Dean Jonas should have known how to interact with law enforcers as a former minister of government. Whether the officers did or did not have a warrant to visit his property is not the issue. He could have avoided escalating the situation by showing less arrogance and having a calm and rational discussion with the officers. He should realize he is just an ordinary citizen and no longer a member of Parliament. Threatening the officers by telling them he also had a weapon is ignorant. What if he had gone for the weapon and the police felt their lives were at risk and blasted him? When interacting with the police, give them respect as your life could depend on it. What is the point of being right but dead?

Are you guys watching the same video. The police came and asked questions. He (Dean) clearly was the aggressor. He was up in the police man face and all now he should be sitting in JAIL.
