Reports say that a Tindale Road woman telephoned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and complained that she had been wounded in the face and feet by a man with whom she has a relationship in an incident that took place on Wednesday, March 20,
on Old Parham Road.

Allegedly, the victim sustained these injuries as a result of being punched repeatedly by the offender, who wears several rings.

Reports say the woman was driving from west to east on Old Parham Road and stopped in the vicinity of Top Ranking when she saw the alleged offender.

An argument reportedly ensued between them, at which time the man dragged her out of her car and began to beat her about the body.
The woman subsequently had to be transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment.

A search was carried out for the alleged offender and he was found in Skerritts Pasture.

During a search of his brown Lexus motorcar, a red shopping bag containing a quantity of US and EC currency was found.

He was arrested on suspicion of wounding and taken to the St. John’s Police Station, along with the money.

Officers from the Proceeds of Crime Unit were informed about the discovery, and inquiries into how the man came into possession of these large sums of cash will be conducted.
