Police seize guns, bullets, and drugs in stop and search operations

Members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU), the Special Services Unit (SSU), CID, and K-9 Unit conducted several stop and search exercises in the early hours of Friday morning.

They were successful in seizing a number of firearms and ammunition.

These include; one 9mm Beretta pistol, one makeshift shotgun, three modified flare guns, several different caliber rounds of ammunition and a quantity of Cannabis.

Several persons are arrested and in police custody assisting the police with their investigations.

  1. Stop and search should be done several times per week in several different areas at staggered times.

    • I totally agree that “stop and search should be done several times per week in several different areas, during several times of the day, between morning and night. Maybe more times during the nights. Police officers and solider should be posted outside the office, and patrolling the streets.
