STATE MEDIA:
In ongoing efforts to combat the proliferation of illegal firearms and ammunition, police have achieved significant successes.
Two 9-millimeter pistols along with matching ammunition were confiscated in separate operations conducted last night and this morning.
Three individuals were apprehended when a weapon was discovered in their vehicle while traveling on Sir Sydney Walling Highway.
Additionally, another man was arrested during an operation in Bendals, where a gun and ammunition were seized.
These recent accomplishments contribute to a total of three illegal firearms seized by law enforcement this week.
Earlier, Jahrubie Lee of Browne’s Avenue was fined XCD$25,000.00 after pleading guilty to gun and ammunition possession on Wednesday, with a deadline to pay by the end of October to avoid a one-year prison term.

What is the estimated illegal fire arms on the street to make these seizures significant?
Journalist should report facts and keep their opinions to themselves.
Stop influencing the minds of people and report the facts and allow the reader to rationalize the information.
They will pay the fine and replace the illegal weapon, learn from their mistake and employ better concealment in the future…..
One is one too much and significant in a small country like Antigua. One is good statistics.
3 down, and 563 to go. Not significant at all.
