(STRATCOM Press Release)

Police are currently carrying out investigations into an alleged robbery which took place at Deep Bay on Wednesday.

The initial report stated that two visitors aboard the MS Celebrity Summit, which is docked at Heritage Quay was robbed at gunpoint. However, police investigations into the matter have revealed that was not the case.

In fact, a local tour guide, who took the visitors to Deep Bay for a swim was allegedly robbed of his silver Sangyong motor pickup by two masked men armed with guns. The perpetrators allegedly drove away from the scene in the man’s vehicle with several valuable items belonging to the visitors; to include their passports. The visitors were not at the scene of the alleged robbery; so at no time were they in harms way nor were their lives threathened.

The police administration regretted the entire ordeal, and has since given this matter their full attention. Additional security measures have also been put in place to prevent any such re-occurrences.

Meanwhile, anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Grays Farm Police Station at 462-0481 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914
