Investigators are said to be closing in on thieves suspected to have been involved in the recent massive jewellery heist that reportedly occurred at a Blue Waters home.

According to informed sources, at least one jewellery repair shop where some of the stolen jewels had been deposited or sold, while a jewellery store operator was said to be cooperating with investigators.

Several apparent recently melted gold bars have been reportedly recovered.

During the home invasion several pieces of gold, silver and diamond jewellery of more than monetary value, were reportedly stolen. These included rings, necklaces, bangles and earrings.

This incident occurred when two armed robbers entered the home shortly after the owners had left to travel abroad.

The lone home-helper reportedly fled to safety when the daylight robbers brandished a gun, then forced their way into the home.

The distraught family offered a substantial reward of EC$10, 000 for information that would lead to the recovery of the stolen jewellery.

It was not clear if it was the monetary incentive that had led to an investigative breakthrough.

Though seemingly imminent, so far no arrests have been made and investigations are said to be continuing.
