  1. The owner of the gun and the student both should be punished. The is old enough to know not to touch the gun, and the owner of the gun(s) knows that he or she should secure the gun properly. When you apply for a gun through the A&B Police Force, the same officers give you a long list of procedures how to secure your weapon especially at home. Are you telling me that those precaution don’t apply to police officers too? Once the police has the said gun in custody, from the serial number on the gun, they should know who the gun belongs too. I hope it’s not an unlicensed firearm. These schools have too much gangs and they love to bullying other students to join the gangs. If he was been bullied he should report it instead taking matters in his own hands by bringing a gun to school.

  2. Carelessness. How can a child just take his brother cousin aunty nephew gun if it is secured? The adult should be jailed. Lisence revoked. Fired from the police force.

  3. Annoyed, you are talking foolishness. If you are a firearm holder, 100% of the responsibility falls on YOU to properly secure your weapon… If you do not have it on your person, it should be secured in a safe. Anybody who is issued a firearm’s license is ordered to buy a proper safe to store the weapon when not in use… If his weapon was stored away properly, then we would not be having this discussion… You can’t just leave a weapon where children have open access to it… Come on…

  4. Any other parent or relative would be held responsible and prosecuted accordingly..I see no reason why this protocol should not be allowed in this case. There is a widespread belief that there are many criminal elements in the Police Force hiding behind the protection of a uniform. These criminals need to be weeded out and given lengthy jail sentences served alongside their kind at 1735. Our citizens are more afraid of these men and women in black than they are of the condemned criminals among us!

  5. These children are playing with fire. Hope they don’t get burnt. Now parents should be very concerned even sending their children to school. What he have with bringing guns to school?

  6. Clearly the A&B police force needs to be cleaned up. Police daughter responsible for teen death, another one bringing guns to school and an officer had a bench warrant issued on him. Must we continue?

  7. When a civilian owns a licensed firearm, they are told to keep it in a locked safe! Why would any member of the Police Force be so careless? He should be summarily disciplined!!!

  8. Don’t blame the officer because a family member took somthing that they shouldn’t touched, the blame and consequences should be on the individual that commit the act.

  9. Is this some kind of sick joke? So he took his borthers gun then? thanks for keeping us informed. This is madness if you ask me

  10. The Article did not stated that the gun belongs.
To the any of the said mention . It states that they are members of the Antigua and Barbuda police force.

  11. ok...guest Jamaica ain't the only school kids carrying fire arm am just a civil Antiguan man trying split justice because look now we ate in the same category ok...guest Jamaica ain't the only school kids carrying fire arm am just a civil Antiguan man trying split justice because look now we ate in the same category

This why it not good to judge another country because its not the country its the ppl lives in it its the patents who fnt check there kids school bags
an instead of us focusing on our kids we busy tearing down another nation now look at us our kids not safe in school that gun could a been use yo tske someone life who knows smh Antigua need to focus on there children stop.meddling in what DMT concerns you all
because we have issues with our kids why wasn’t each student ask yo open there bags before entering school grounds
government remove special.security. service who use to make sure that all weapon keep off school compound because my child use to tell me the security guards always watching them an he feels uncomfortable as for me m glad hes uncomfortable at lease I know he won’t mix in nothing
but now they have a crappy security firm who dnt co CERN about nothing
we need strong security force how many kids carry illigal weapon an nobody knows about it
parents also need to attend more to there kids especially the boys not just let them get up go school sometimes these boys dnt even go school

  12. Everybody is asking about what is happening to our children. Think about it for a minute. We have strayed from Bibilical values. We are no longer training the child in the way they should grow. Teachers try to discipline ya’ll rude children in school, cause they are already broken from the home, but before ya’ll except the help, ya’ll go and cuss out the same teachers.
Just all-round disrespectful. Go back to ensure your children go to church. Pray and fast for your children and ask God to cover them.
Also, it takes a village still stands because we are to be our brother’s keeper. Come on, let’s get it together. We cannot continue in this vein. Parents are accountable for their minors. Stop petting them up and deal with them before they become hardened criminals. That’s all for today. Me gone dis side.

  13. You’re soo right. I endorse every words. Stop blaming others. Put God first in everything or You’re going to fail, Training begins at home, parents please pay attention to your children. I could understand that parents are not always at home when children leaves for school ! Please let us leade by example.
Stop cursing people in the hearing of your child/ children , because they are going be disrespectful to any and everyone. And to that gun owner you should be ashamed of yourself. Why you have to leave a gun so carelessly that someone could get a hold of it ? Mercy, you know what could of happened???

  14. A 14 year old child know he must not touch his or her parents guns if they are POLICE officers. Two the parent of that child. Need serious questions

  15. Get prepared people it’s coming. Our youths have a tendency of picking up on the American madness and the social media i.e YouTube is a huge help. The big question is what was his intention? was it just to show and fit in to a certain Posse? was it a deterrent from bullies or did he intend to used it a different way?
I think the PM made a statement that states ” these youths are hiding guns in abandoned houses” and he may have had a point.
The investigators must find out where he got that gun from and this also goes to all the other confiscated firearms. We should be able to make some sort of a trace by now and Mr AG where is the forensic lab?

  16. To annoyed,,,,Nothing here states,,,who the gun owner is.Yet,,whom ever,,owns the gun takes ALL the responsibilities of a child, goes to school with it.
