The Fort Road owner of Tiny Supermarket reported the alleged fraud to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), claiming that a Gambles resident had made several purchases, amounting to $1,750, at his business place and paid with three ACB Caribbean
cheques.

However, after the cheques were deposited into the business’ account, all were returned by the bank for insufficient funds.

The Gambles man therefore had committed fraud by issuing the cheques while knowing he did not have sufficient funds on his account to cover the value of his purchases.

  1. Why is this even news? The criminal’s name wasn’t published so that the business community can be on their guard, but you published the victim’s business name. How does that make sense? I’m pretty sure that the police are not wondering who there person is or if the checks bounced.

    • Only in Antigua my black a$$. This 💩 happens all over the frigging world on a daily basis. Nothing new but unlike these Antgiuan news site who quick to put out every piece of negative news to give Antigua bad press for their own personal and political benefits these other countries keep their 💩 behind closed doors and not splash all their business on these gossip blogs.
