POLICE PRESS RELEASE: Police Probe Sudden Death of Two Men
The police are continuing investigations into the circumstances that resulted in the death of two men at a construction site.
It was reported that around 12:30 pm on Friday 26 May, a heavy-duty equipment operator was carrying out work at a construction site at Winward Estate on Pegion Point Beach, when the machine apparently came in contact with a building both men were working on.
The building reportedly collapsed, causing injuries to a 36 year-old man of American Road and a man from Ottos.
The Ottos man, who is believed to be in his mid-twenties was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center by the Emergency Medical Services.
He was pronounced dead at 3:09 pm.
The other worker was pronounced dead on the scene around 5:17 pm.
The Police Administration is expressing condolences to the families who are mourning, as a result of this tragic incident.

And the time differences he wa dead on scene but dies later than the one who want to the hospital smh
And the time differences he wa dead on scene but dies later than the one who want to the hospital smh
That means that the one that died at the scene was considered dead when the EMT arrived and they will not move him. The Doctor would then come to the site and pronounce him dead.
Step. Gone too soon. Sue the company.

Condolences to the bereaved are in order!
As one, who’s deeply entrenched in the Construction Industry, I’m still appalled every time…
A…when I witness construction workers being transported in open flatbed trucks!
B…the lack of hard hats and other PPE on construction sites.
C…the lack of proper signage(temporary and permanent) to include the proper building permits posted on job sites.
I’m quite sure, the authorities are not lacking in education regarding CONSTRUCTION SAFETY!
On any construction site, be they residential or commercial, private or public, the relevant authorities – INSPECTORS should be able to enter any job site and check for VIOLATIONS, write up those responsible and fine them.
While, law enforcement MUST eventually get involved, the initial INVESTIGATION(S), unless it’s criminal in nature, MUST be conducted by trained, certified and qualified inspectors in the Construction Industry, since, law enforcement would not be qualified for tasks such as these on construction sites.

Ras you 100% right. You could go on all day with the type of dangerous things you see on jobsite. Deep hole and trench never barrier off, man standing on high wall tying steel, man using grinder with no mask. Man wearing sneakers. Antiguans build good sturdy house that can withstand hurricane, we need more site meetings, training workers that is the employer responsibility.
Who writing this nonsense? Who is editing this crap???
Someone allegedly drove a huge piece of construction machinery into a building…the building collapsed on two men and they are DEAD!!! How difficult is that to write???
Where the f**kkkkk did you go to school?
Horribly sad news. On another subject, should it not be obligatory for someone publishing news to be able to spell correctly? Pigeon and Windward.
Poor kids. Rest in peace, guys.
