Police are calling upon the general public, especially residents within the Villa Community, who may have information surrounding the shooting death of 31yr-old Babu Jardine of Villa, to come forward and assist them further in their investigations.
On Tuesday around 9:48pm, police responded to a 911 Emergency call about a male body seen lying in some bushes off Dyett Street in Villa. On arrival at the scene, they met the lifeless body of Jardine dressed only in a multi-coloured boxer shorts, with what appeared to be a bullet wound to his abdomen.
His body was pronounced dead on the spot around 11:36pm by a medical doctor. Jardine was recently placed on bail for a number of offences to include: Unlawful Wounding, Threatening Language, Disorderly Conduct, and Trespassing. Further investigations are currently ongoing into the matter.
In light of this recent shooting incident, police are making a further appeal for members of the public to take full advantage of the Gun Amnesty, and come forward with useful information that can lead towards confiscating illegal firearms and ammunition from off the streets. The public is assured that information provided will be handled confidentially.
