Police officer Karim Warner’s trial began Monday, but assault charges were withdrawn after one victim declined to proceed.
The case involves a December 2023 incident where Warner allegedly fired 12 shots at a Toyota Mark X near Emerald Cove Resort after a dispute over a leased vehicle. While the male occupant opted out, four witnesses, including the female complainant, testified before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.
A taxi driver and two police officers also gave evidence, with investigators reporting bullet holes near a rear door handle and spent shell casings at the scene. The trial resumes March 8 with five more witnesses.

De-escalation should be the a common practice by law enforcement when it comes to non violent offences. This dude should be on desk or traffic duty only…Ticking time bomb alert!
He should be fired, no desk duty or demotion. He is supposed to have an extensive amount of training on firearms and the impact it could cause on others if improperly utilized. No one was shooting at him and he fired his gun out of anger. But we all know he will get off and still be on the force until he does something again.
