11

Nearly a year after a fatal traffic accident on May 18, 2023, Senior Officer Tulip Horsford and her daughter La-Shanti Cooper remain caught in a drawn-out legal battle.

The incident occurred along All Saints Road when Cooper, driving a Toyota BB owned by Horsford, lost control, crashed into a column, and then crossed the road.

The crash resulted in the death of passenger Keane Gregoire, 18, who died from injuries the next day.

Cooper, who only had a learner’s permit, faces charges of driving without supervision, lacking insurance, and causing death by dangerous driving.

Horsford is charged with allowing her daughter to drive without proper insurance.

The case has seen multiple delays, with the next court date scheduled for June 13.

  1. that passenger who lost his life knew she didn’t have liscence a! put his life in danger too right
smh the police need to be charge too this is nonsense

  2. Justice delayed, is justice denied.
What is the cause of all these delays in the court system..
Some years ago I was the victim of a robbery. I to all practical purposes got the police headed in the direction of the perpetrators when I saw a young lady wearing one of my jewelry items and very nicely enquired of her where she bought it from. Her answer led to the arrest of two known robbers.
That case ran on and on for over a year to even get started. It caused me so much frustration that I eventually told Magistrate Walsh that I no longer wished for the police to continue with the matter as it was costing me money each time I had to appear in court and I knew I would not recover my stolen items, except for the said jewelry the young lady was wearing and an empty computer bag.
And we wonder why some people feel justified in taking the reins of justice in their own hands?
I am not advocating it, but I can empathise.

  3. @SMH.
I normally give people the benefit of the doubt as to why they open their mouth and speak, or put their thumbs on a phone or tablet and procede to share their opinions on any forum, but your statement has got to be one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever read on here, just dumb as hell.

To even insinuate that the victim is nothing but a victim in this case, has got to be the most assanine, arse backwards thing I’ve ever read concerning someone who is a victim of a reckless driving accident.

Bwoi you took the cake on this one..waw..

    • It’s actually not a dumb statement cause he’s actually kind of right. Because I’m sure he knew but at the same time the statement shouldn’t have been made in that sense. We really got to state the obvious, the right and the wrong.

  4. Tragic this was indeed. Mother’s only defense is to say that daughter took the car unknown to her. It’s inconceivable that as an officer of the law she would let her daughter, without a license, drive her vehicle on the public roads.

    • Is it her defense actually?? Or is it a lie to get herself out of it?? I don’t want to believe the daughter would just take up the car n the mother doesn’t know. n this must be something the daughter is accustomed too. DRIVING THE MOTHERS CAR WITHOUT A LICENSE AND ANY SUPERVISION

  5. This is a lost cause as the police always try the ultimate bobol to get away from thier crap. God is watching!!!

  6. Both these women need to be in jail…actually buried DEEP under the jail! jail!
This was a grusome accident scene.
DAUGHTER allegedly left the scene…left that dying young man…then when caught, tried to say that the young man was driving.
MOTHER allegedly coached daughter! Just because mother is part of a corrupt police system is the reason for all the delays.
A young man is dead…he didn’t kill himself!
These women feel theyre above the law! JAIL DAUGHTER & MOTHER!
If you had seen this broken young man you would say the same thing!

  7. Every thing for poor pickle head black people is to send people prison are you too wicket

  8. Sometimes when you in brother hood and sister hood you does get way …..only certain people go jail that is why we need to live in love with one another
