POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF GUYANESE NATIONAL

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Thursday, May 8, 2025

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, a national of Guyana.

Reports indicate that sometime shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, the deceased allegedly jumped from a motor vehicle driven by 24-year-old Victor Ince of Lightfoot West.

The incident occurred along a by-road leading from New Winthorpes to the Jabberwock Main Road.


Police responded to the scene and found the body of the deceased lying motionless on the southern side of the roadway with multiple injuries.

A medical doctor later pronounced her dead at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle is currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations.

The vehicle involved has been seized and transported to Police Headquarters for further forensic examination.

The Police Administration is appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information to come forward.

  1. A thorough investigation is required . The boyfriend should not think that because both he and victim are Guyanese that the tragic occurrence would not be thoroughly investigated. Too much criminality involving non-nationals is occurring of late!!!!
