Police Probe Suspected Drowning

The police are continuing their investigations into the suspected drowning of 50 year old Wendel Joseph of Skerrits Pasture.

Joseph reportedly went for a swim at Fort James Beach, along with a female companion around 6:30 pm on Wednesday 6th April.

It was further reported that they were about to leave, when the deceased returned to the water and disappeared.

Help was sought from a passerby in the area, and his body was later found floating face down and was pulled ashore.

Efforts were made to resuscitate him but was unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead by a medical doctor around 9:05 pm.

  2. I lived and visit Antigua that beach never was and still isn’t a beach I swim in nope no sir

  3. Years ago…i went to fort james. I could recall been pulled by a serious current. Poor me cant swim, but it was by the grace of God that for today I am still alive.
