Congratulations are in order for the Police Cricket Team for winning the ACB Caribbean Dave Joseph 35 overs cricket competition against Freetown Cricket Team on Saturday 9th April.
The match was played at the Police Recreation Grounds, with Police winning the toss and electing to field. They restricted Freetown to 71 runs off 20.1 overs from the allotted 35 overs.
Police in return took 12.3 overs to reach the target, making 74 runs and losing 4 wickets. Malik Gerald top scored with 25, and both Derek Mourillon and Shawnish Hector closed the game on 12 not-out respectively.
Commissioner Rodney was among other senior police officers and spectators watching the keenly contested match. He took the opportunity to offer congratulations to the team and wish them success in their future games.
Rodney also encouraged the players to be ambassadors of the police force and to continue exhibiting that same high-spirited desire to do well throughout their daily functions.
The Police Cricket Team is captained by Constable Derek Mourillon and Vice Captained by Linton Africa.
The other players are Damon Valentine, Jeron Jones, Malik Gerald, Shawnisha Hector, Jenisen Richards, Lashorn Barnarde, Neville Nichols, Alston Senior, Vincent Shadrach Jr., Shawn Walsh, Okano Bartley, Shivon Moore, James Cornelius, and Orandel Boston.
The Lawmen are now focused on clenching the Sir Richie Richardson One Day Competition as well as the Sir Curtley Ambrose Two Day Competition and the Sir Vivian Richards Thursday league titles.
