Police Commissioner Enforces No-Excuse Policy on Vehicle Availability for Emergency Responses

4

Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney is taking a firm stance on police vehicle availability, stating he will not accept excuses from officers regarding a lack of vehicles for emergency responses.

Rodney emphasized that the public should not be told about vehicle shortages delaying police responses.

Under the One-Call policy, if a vehicle is unavailable, officers should contact another station to respond.

Rodney finds it improbable that all police vehicles would be deployed simultaneously and advises individuals to note the date, time, and station if they encounter such claims, then report it to police headquarters.

“We have repeatedly stated there are enough police vehicles within the force to respond to incidents,” Rodney said.
