Prime Minister Gaston Browne says former finance minister Harold Lovell must explain why nearly US$ 100 million was spent on a Brazilian loan to extend the airport runway by 1000 linear feet.
Browne says if Lovell cannot give a proper explanation for the loan amount, he may order an inquiry.
The prime minister says the project which was initially 46M was nearly doubled.
He said what the UPP government spent on the runway extension and lighting is the cost of a brand new airport terminal.
Browne says if Lovell offers a good explanation for the cost he will let the matter rest.
If not, Browne says he will order an investigation.
